1 euro 2011-2020
The artist Pertti Mäkinen created a motif depicting two flying swans for this coin. The design was taken from his competition entry for a coin to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the independence of Finland. On the national side appears also the Finnish country code (FI) and a mint mark. Since 2011 the mint mark in Finnish euro coins has been the Mint of Finland's lion logo. The common side of the coin shows the map of Europe, and it was designed by Mr Luc Luycx of the Royal Belgian Mint.
