The third Finnish commemorative coin of 2022 is dedicated to an important theme: Finnish climate research. Nature's own air quality meter – beard lichen – is depicted on the obverse side of this special 2 euro coin. The relief is composed of a root-like branching network. The insightful motif can also be interpreted as representing the lungs – reminding us of the importance of air quality and its study. Issue date: 20.9.2022
